Liisa Pruzek
Liisa started meditating as a last-ditch effort to relieve anxiety and depression, which made her daily life difficult and her role as a wife and mom to her two elementary-aged children nearly impossible. She sought relief from her ruthless inner critic, worry, fear, panic, anger, overwhelm, and grief. Initially, she didn’t believe she could experience calmness and joy regularly.
Liisa realized she’d found something different in meditation when she could focus on the coolness of her breath instead of negative, catastrophic thoughts. She continues to meditate because it works, providing her with tools and awareness to navigate difficult situations without judgment. This brings her incredible freedom, wisdom, and joy in the present moment.
Since 2012, Liisa has studied extensively with Caren Prentice and enjoys online content from Jon Kabat-Zinn. Her go-to techniques include finding the expansive breath, sensations in the body, Releasing My Agenda meditation, and Yoga Nidra. She wants to share this transformative practice with others, especially moms. Liisa loves teaching yoga, meditation, and most recently, yoga teacher training—a major departure from her marketing communications career.
A native Oregonian, Liisa is married with two older children starting their next adventures outside the home. She embraces the beauty of being a “bird launcher” rather than an “empty-nester.” Fall is her favorite season, and she loves pets (especially her dog Blazer), tea, spontaneous dance parties, outdoor yoga, and hummingbirds. She’s still working on combining outdoor yoga with hummingbirds. Stay tuned! Liisa enjoys Keith Urban concerts, funny baby and pet videos, time in nature, and traveling near and far.
Her favorite quote is by the Dalai Lama: “There are only two days in the year where nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow. So today is the right day to love, believe, do, and mostly live.”
