Ramon Almonte
Teaches: Group Meditation
Ramon discovered meditation at the age of 40 when he felt a deep sense of dissatisfaction with his life. Seeking purpose, joy, and presence, he turned to meditation and found a sense of peace and serenity that was previously absent. Ramon has been meditating for 13 years and has studied with Eric Huffman, Caren Prentice, and Rev. Andrew Shykofsky. He enjoys experimenting with different meditation techniques but tends to lean towards mindfulness, mantra, and loving-kindness meditations.
While initially reluctant to teach, Ramon has come to see meditation as a gift that should be shared with others. He believes that meditation is about growth and evolving as a soul to find one’s true self, and he finds joy in helping others navigate life’s challenges through meditation.
Ramon grew up in New York City in a small immediate family but has a large extended family who valued their Catholic faith. Ramon lives outside of Chicago and is married with an 8-year-old daughter. Outside of work, he loves to read and learn about spirituality, particularly anything mystical. He is not a fan of cooking but enjoys eating Dominican food prepared by his family. Ramon is an animal lover and had a golden doodle named Chloe for 12 years. Ramon’s passion for spirituality is reflected in his favorite room, his office, where he works and does most of his spiritual work.
